Laura Adams W/C 01/04/2013
From the outside Laura Adams, from Matlock may look like your average 20-year-old with a keen eye for fashion and a love of animals, but beneath the innocent exterior is a girl with a few secrets up her sleeve - (or should I say onsie)?!
“I enjoy strange food combinations. Like chocolate with cheese and onion crisps or chips,” Laura admits!
And that’s not the only cat that Laura has let out of the proverbial bag… “I have a huge crush on the lovely actor ”Jim parsons” who plays Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory. I have no idea why, maybe it’s his intelligence and sense of humour and because he’s so tall?”
WE CAN SEE WHAT YOU MEAN!
Right I think we’ve embarrassed Laura enough for now, so lets find out a bit more about her. “I’m a professional dog walker and run my own business called Waggy Tailz. Before that I went to college and completed my two year course in Art & Design as well as a year long course in Illustration.”
As well as running her own business, Laura is also a passionate fashion and beauty blogger and despite the fact she has only been blogging since December, already has a loyal band of followers.
But how would she describe her style? “I would describe my style as, my own and no one else’s. If I like it, I’ll wear it. I think my style is constantly changing and evolving. One day I’ll be in stripes, knitwear, or pastels. The next I could be out rocking leather leggings, and faux fur! I really love having textures in my outfits, e.g. faux furs, leathers, spikes, velvets. I would also say 90% of my wardrobe is black, anyone would think Morticia Addams gave me half her clothes! “
Despite her quirky and individual style, Laura also takes inspiration from other places: “My inspiration comes from a lot of fashion posts I see on tumblr. I also love to see what people are wearing and how they style certain trends, so street fashion inspires me as well. Makeup inspiration however comes a lot from the vintage, pin up era, think beauties like Marilyn Monroe, and Dita von tease. I also get a lot of inspiration from Iggy Azalea, I love her style, it’s so fresh, unique and edgy. “
Laura enjoys shopping, horse riding and spending time with her friends as well as following (literally) her favourite bands. “This is actually a funny story. Me and a friend went to the O2 in Birmingham, to see our favourite band live, Deftones. Anyway, we wanted to try and see if we could see/meet them before they go on stage, so we stood by the back doors waiting, and this guy dressed all in leather asked us if the doors were locked, and we helped him open them, and held some boxed for him and he thanked us both and left… later that day we realised we just helped a band member from the support act, Coheed and Cambria,” she says.
With a love of Harpers Bizarre, Cosmopolitan, and Elle, Laura hopes to expand her knowledge of fashion and become an established blogger and has dreams for her future:
“In ten years time I’d like to think I’d be living in a lovely little cottage out in the countryside somewhere, maybe have 2 horses. But I’d also love to be able to be a freelance artist, and thrive doing something I love.”
A huge thank you to Laura Adams for being this week’s featured blogger.

Da’ja Wright – W/C 25/03/13
“I’m a curious, adventurous 22-year-old, looking for a way to take over the world one outfit at a time.”
Without a doubt Da’Ja Wright knows a thing or two about fashion, and with a busy blog and flourishing career as a fashion stylist, this girl has the whole world at her feet.
The blog…
“So the blog is run between my sister and I. She’s a merchandiser and I’m a stylist. Basically it’s us displaying our work… more so me than her so far! We just started out so it’s hard to tell which direction we’d be going in but that’s just more of a reason for everyone to tune in and see what we come up with,” says Da’ja, who also works at Comptoir des Cotonniers – an upcoming French brand in the United States.
After a recent move from Connecticut to Jersey City Da’Ja now lives a mere 20 minutes from New York, arguably the most fashionable city on earth. She describes herself as a bit of a free spirit. “I like to just roam around with no destination and see where I end up,” with an eclectic yet expensive taste but a love of thrift shopping…
$900?! Wright or wrong?!
“The most expensive piece I brought was a 900 dollar suede and leather jacket with a shearling collar. I’ve worn it maybe 5 times since I bought it but I see it as an investment piece,” – we can’t argue with that!
Da’ja’s style icon is Alexa Chung, “She’s hard yet, chic and comfortable. Comfort is really important to me.” (We can vouch for that too – give us some leggings over jeans any day of the week!)
We find it hard to believe that Da’Ja doesn’t have a personal stylist of her own… “My style is evolving, it changes every day. I don’t usually plan out any outfits but when I’m finished dressing it always seems to just work.” #JELOUS!
In ten years she says she’d like to have a family and a successful career – we can’t see any reason why that career won’t by thriving in five! Best of luck and thanks for being our featured blogger this week!

Catharina Ulberg – W/C 18/03/13
Tag a Trend would like to welcome Norwegian fashion blogger Catharina Ulberg, 24 as this week’s featured blogger!
A lover of fur (of the faux variety) pearls and all things sparkly, this London based blogger may look like your typical girly-girl but hidden behind the glitz and glam Cat has a secret love – for golf!
And when asked if she had ever met anyone famous Cat surprised us again – with her eclectic list of close encounters: “I was standing right next to Donatella Versace when she did the launch for the H&M Versace collab, STARSTRUCK! I also met Linkin Park and had my album signed by them when I was about 14, that was huge to me back then! Oh.. and I queued up with a friend for 50 min to see David Hasselhoff in HMV.. it wasn’t that long ago.. not my proudest moment!”
When she isn’t celeb hunting or aiming for a hole-in-one, Cat also enjoys spending time writing on her fashion blog: www.candycoloureddreams.com. True to its name this feminine blog captures your imagination and gives you real outfit inspiration. Cat’s blog covers everything from trend alerts and celeb style to beauty, art and reviews.
This Vogue fanatic draws inspiration from a variety of icons: “I get style inspiration from so many places and people.. celebs (Rosie Huntington-Whitley and Kourtney Kardashian to name a couple), my colleagues (my office is full of fashionistas) and old Hollywood (Audrey Hepburn).”
As well as her love of golf, Cat also let slip that she once spent £320 on a Karen Millen Trench coat: “It was a “I got the job” treat!” she insists!
In ten years time Cat hopes to be a Lead Web Designer/Creative Director within high fashion and to be continuing her successful blog.
Well we wish you the best of luck!
