Skinny jeans unzipped

Most of us own a pair of skinny jeans. And although the vision of your parents in some Levis is enough to make anyone queasy, they have in fact been around for over half a century. And no I’m not pulling your leg!

Jeans themselves were invented by Levis Strauss in the 1800’s and by 1950 the slim fit ‘skinny’ jean had its place on the high street and this timeless wardrobe staple has remained popular ever since.

Something that came to my attention today, is that although other cuts such as flares and bootleg drift in and out of fashion from season to season, skinnies are just replaced with more skinnies!

The River Island sale rail was a perfect example of this, and whilst dangerously similar skinnies had a half price label, ‘this seasons’ new skinnies were being stacked on the shelves.

Something that is quite unique about skinny jeans is that they are unisex and look great on guys and girls as long as they are worn in the right way…
